So where the negotiations now stand Hi, Tim. So Canadian officials are expecting trade talks to take a while. They say things are moving slowly, but they haven't sold out completely this morning. Doug Ford, the head of government here in Ontario, says Canadian officials have a solid plan in place as talks continue to move forward. And Prime Minister Mark Carney says that he hasn't spoken with Trump in recent days, and he won't until it makes sense. So, well, we'll continue to work with the United States on the many mutually beneficial opportunities that we share in trade and investment. It is clear that we cannot count or fully rely on what has been our most valued trading relationship for our prosperity. So right now I'm standing in Windsor, but you can see Detroit right across the river, and the two economies are tightly integrated. Officials on both sides of the border say the tariffs already in place are really taking a toll, especially in the auto industry, with tariffs on steel, aluminum and auto, leading to job cuts, work stoppages and lost sales. Yesterday, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer met with President Trump. She says her state is vulnerable to the extra tax on auto imports from Mexico and Canada. But back here, even with those sectoral tariffs and that 35% rate on some goods, the Canadian side still says no deal is better than a bad one. So I asked the head of Canada's Automotive Parts Manufacturing Association what a good deal could look like. We think a good deal in automotive says there, the White House needs a tariff on vehicles. It's got one from everybody. You can get one from Canada, too. But maybe if those vehicles are U. S. M. C. A. compliant or they've reached a 50% U. S. Content level, then there's an exemption. And even with that midnight deadline just hours away, the Trump administration continues to take action against other countries. This morning, President Trump announced an additional 25% tariff on India for purchasing Russian oil. Now that won't take effect for another 21 days, but it will stack on an already existing 25% tariff for India. Kayleigh, we've talked a lot about the auto industry, particularly with the care of the terrorists in Canada and how that's going to affect the auto industry here. But what other sectors could be affected? Yeah, Tim. So this morning I interviewed the president of Port Windsor, and he was telling me that Ontario grows six million acres of grain, and there are 35 to 40 states in the U. S. That relies solely on the grain from Ontario. But he says now with higher prices, they're shipping a lot of their grain to Europe. So that means that farmers in the U. S. Now we're either having to pay more for grain or look for somewhere else. So with the supply chain effect, that means when people are going to the grocery store in the U. S. That means they're gonna be paying more for items there. Yeah, we've got a lot of trade between Canada and Minnesota here, so it's something that we're all watching. Texas Department of Public Safety officers are on the streets looking for those Democrat House members to arrest them and to take them to the Texas Capitol. Texas Republicans. Well, they know that they're headed toward a loss of the Congress in 2026. So they've decided that the only way to save themselves is to cheat to change the rules in the middle of the game.
