The New South Wales Police Force has inducted 341 new recruits, the largest class in 13 years, during a period of heightened concern over gun violence in Sydney. Commissioner Moulanian emphasized that police remain in control and have implemented new incentives, such as academy pay and opportunities for recruits to serve in their hometowns, to attract more officers.

Veteran officer Danny Doherty reflected on his long career as he retired, noting that while crime persists, police continue to pursue offenders. The new recruits are expected to bolster the force's efforts to maintain public safety across the state.
