Protesters in more than 2,600 towns and cities across the United States are expected to join the second 'No Kings' protest, organized in opposition to what is described as escalating authoritarianism under the Trump administration. Organizers have prepared safety and de-escalation plans to ensure the demonstrations remain peaceful, following incidents of violence and arrests during the previous protest event.

Recent polling indicates that a significant portion of the US public disapproves of President Trump's leadership, with some expressing support for forceful measures to remove him from office. While some political leaders have criticized the protests, organizers maintain that peaceful demonstration is a core American value. The effectiveness of these large-scale protests remains to be seen, but organizers are aiming for a turnout that could make their demands difficult to ignore.
