Forecasters are warning of multiple rounds of rain affecting the Gulf Coast and southeastern US, including Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi, and parts of Georgia. Some areas, such as North Alabama, may also experience brief periods of frozen precipitation, while New Orleans could see intense rainfall.

The accumulation of moisture is expected to increase the risk of flash flooding, particularly in cities like Baton Rouge, New Orleans, Gulfport, and Lake Charles. The threat of flooding may extend into the weekend for regions in South Alabama, Georgia, North Florida, and parts of South Carolina.

Meanwhile, we see a preponderance of rain that is possible for parts of the Gulf Coast and the 10 corridor through your Sunday still to come. Could be in parts of Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi, and even a sliver across parts of South Georgia. That's some good news. North Alabama. Let's see, it is possible you could see a little touch of frozen precipitation. More than anything, we're going to see more of the rain, some of it in possibly fairly intense through New Orleans briefly, but then into Thursday, that frozen precip back into the Appalachians. And we see still more that just that swath of moisture right along the 10 to 20, and it will eventually add up. Now, with that adding up, some trouble may be on the rise to, and that could be with your flash flooding through tomorrow morning. Baton Rouge, south of Macomb, New Orleans, proper Gulfport, maybe even Morgan City, Lake Charles, all places where we may have some flash flooding and into your weekend, more of the same South Alabama, Georgia and into North Florida and perhaps even into portions of the low country of South Carolina.
