The disaster has resulted in the deaths of more than 300 people, with many others still missing and significant portions of the village destroyed or buried under mud and debris.

Rescue efforts are ongoing but are hindered by blocked roads and debris, making access difficult for emergency teams. The scale of destruction is described as the worst in the region's history, with survivors mourning lost loved ones and the community grappling with the aftermath of the disaster.

This is Bishone village in the district of Bhuner. Locals are mourning as they bid a final farewell to their loved ones. Once a thriving village, now it lies in ruins as far as the eye can see. The cloudburst and heavy thunder brought gushing torrents, with rocks boulders upon this village, wiping out homes and businesses alike. Now most of it is buried under a pile of mud and boulders. A cloudburst triggering a flash flood in this village is unimaginable. The moment I arrived, the dead bodies were laying all around and almost 70 to 80 percent of the village has vanished along with its residents. The barriers may bring some sense of closure, but the search for the missing continues while hope for finding survivors is fading. The survivors of Bishone village can remember the deadly monsoon flood that destroyed their village. This is by far the worst hit area in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Hundreds are dead and many hundreds more are still missing. Rescue efforts are hampered as thousands of people who head to the village clogging the narrow roads, coupled with silt, rock and broken trees swept down from the hilltops. There's been massive loss of life. Many are still buried under the rubble trying to get out. The destruction is immense and I think we've seen the highest number of casualties in Buner's history, over 200 lives lost so far. As the locals bury their dead, they're still in shock, wondering what happened here. Buner is a grim reminder about climate change and global warming which is already wreaking havoc, not just here, but across Pakistan's northern regions.
