California is set to experience additional rain and mountain snow as a new weather system moves through areas including Santa Barbara, Los Angeles, and San Diego. The system is expected to bring colder air, resulting in increased snowfall in the mountains, particularly in the central and southern Sierra regions.

Authorities warn that the risk of flooding remains elevated due to saturated ground from previous record rainfall. Intermittent showers are forecast to continue into the following days, with travel impacts likely in higher elevations but less so along I-80.

This band does come back through Santa Barbara back through Los Angeles back through San Diego. It's going to be a colder system so you're going to have more snow piling up here for the mountains and you can kind of see what we call cold air cumulus clouds behind this. That onshore flow will continue the on and off shower activity as we head into your Tuesday and Wednesday but that main band coming in today and then this thing kind of parks itself over the southwest. It does look like we'll keep the blue color or the purple color with some good snowfall up and at elevation. So the flood threat is there again. Think about it. Everything's been saturated. We've already seen a lot of runoff and now we're going to be looking at adding to that with more rainfall. There's a look at the additional snow that we're going to get which is going to be fantastic. Maybe not as terrible traveling over I-80 Kelly because most of the snow will be targeted towards the central and southern Sierra.
