Protesters are still gathering outside a Broadview, Illinois, Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility to manifest against the Trump administration's immigration crackdown in Illinois.

A large group of protesters gathered outside the ICE processing facility in Broadview, Illinois, with attendance estimated at over one hundred people. The demonstration featured participants holding signs and playing instruments, expressing opposition to ICE operations. Law enforcement, including state police and local authorities, maintained a significant presence, with officers at times donning riot gear. 

The protest remained mostly peaceful, aside from some arrests that occurred before a scheduled curfew. Authorities closed nearby streets and installed concrete barriers, making access to the facility and surrounding neighborhoods difficult. The event is part of a series of ongoing protests at the site over recent weeks.

More protests erupt at Broadview ICE facility

All right, these are live pictures from Broadview, Illinois. CBS News Chicago is on the scene covering what is happening there at an ice facility. Let's watch a little bit of their coverage. Yeah, Jackie, Dana, there was a curfew that was set in place here a couple of weeks ago. Those arrests this morning happened before that curfew was supposed to start at 9 o'clock this morning. There's over a hundred protesters here now in front of the ice processing facility here on Beach Street, and this is those safety zones that we've been talking about. You'll see protesters, some are playing instruments right now, a lot of them are singing. A lot of the signs here this morning, just people holding signs that are in opposition to ice. We're looking at some here that say, care for others, should not be radical. Another just says, abolish ice. There's a lot of American flags here. A lot of people just holding signs. It's been pretty peaceful this morning, aside from those arrests that we saw earlier, and we'll show you some video. You'll see those escalations as protesters came face to face with state police here. We know officers came out in riot gear at one point, but there are a lot of layers of law enforcement here this morning, including state police and Broadview police. Broadview police chief is here, along with demonstrators, people in costumes, face paint, holding signs. We know protesters have been here over the last month or so, I would say six weeks. Every Friday, this is the first Friday that the temporary fence is gone, and 25th Street, the entrance to the facility, is closed down. You'll see in this video this escalation between protesters and police. This is from about an hour ago. We know more concrete barriers went into place Tuesday night as that fence, that temporary fence was being put down. IDOT crews were putting more concrete barriers in place, and then we'll also show you a view from Skywatch, which is overhead right now as we're live, and you'll be able to see a better scope of just how big the protest is here this morning, and you also might be able to see the other entrance on 25th Street. It's blocked off. You'll see a number of sheriff's deputies that are stationed at the entrance of 25th Street when you get off of 290, and also at Roosevelt and 25th. Really no way to get through or to get in and out of the neighborhoods by car. A lot of these protesters parked in the residential areas around this facility and had to walk here as the majority of the streets were closed. All right. We're obviously going to continue to follow all the developments out of Chicago and bring those to you right here on CBS News 24-7 throughout the course of the day.

The Trump administration is awaiting word from the Supreme Court after asking it to allow the immediate deployment of National Guard troops to Illinois to protect Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers. A lower court blocked the move.
