Forecast models indicate that parts of the Hill Country could receive three to five inches of rain, raising concerns about renewed flash flooding. Authorities are urging residents in flood-prone areas to remain vigilant as conditions remain favorable for potentially life-threatening flooding.

More flooding rain expected in Texas Hill Country

I could further complicate things. We got more rain that's going to be in the forecast again today, Paul. Yeah, not a couple of sprinkles. These are thunderstorms dumping the type of rain that started this tragedy just about eight days ago, almost to this hour as well. So flood watches have been issued, approaching cold front and ahead of the cold front, moisture being drawn in from the Gulf of Mexico. So we could see, yeah, we've got flood watches out there, meaning the conditions, the watch means, conditions are favorable for flash flooding to occur. Yeah, and mornings, obviously you gotta take action. And right now the setup that we have that is taking action, it's all about the moisture, plenty of it moving right towards the Texas Hill Country. Yeah, anywhere in this part of Texas, there's maybe one to two inches of rain in the vertical column of the atmosphere. That, and conditions are ripe, could ring out. So that's why we talk about the flash flood guidance and the possibility for flash flooding. All this moisture, atmospheric moisture, eventually could come down, like this model is saying, perhaps the far Western part of the Hill Country could see some heavy thunderstorms overnight tonight and into early tomorrow morning. Yeah, and the time is really a key prospect too. Look at that at 6 a.m. Some of that's gonna get underway at three, four, five o'clock again in pitch darkness. That's something to really think about, especially in these areas that are so flood prone. And while you have people actively on the search, it's gonna be again, possibly dangerous once again, Paul. Yeah, so overnight tonight into tomorrow, then tomorrow night into Monday, here we go. It's midnight and we're still seeing some heavy rain come in the area. And right now, some of the models are saying we could see some of the Hill Country area pick up, you know, three to five inches of rain. That could be life-threatening again. My goodness, yeah, there you go, Fulks.
