This follows another incident which occurred at the Mammoth Underground operation at the Currah Mine near Blackwater. That site is owned by Coronado Global Resources, but the miners work for operator Mammoth. It's understood crews spent much of the morning securing the site. This isn't the first time the Currah site has made headlines for an incident. In 2021 and 2020, miners died at the open-cut Currah Mine, one involving a drag line, the other a crushing involving a heavy tyre. The government today says its thoughts are with the families of the missing miner. Our thoughts and prayers are with those families of the affected workers. My understanding is that the search and the rescue mission still continues. Coronado says it's providing support to workers with the operations at the site suspended until further notice. What exactly caused this incident is now the subject of a Workplace Health and Safety Queensland investigation.
