Areas in and around Milwaukee were hit with record breaking rainfall Saturday evening into early Sunday morning. While Milwaukee picked up more than 5 inches of rain, some areas around the city received as much as 10 inches.

Milwaukee has set a new daily rainfall record, registering 5.74 inches, surpassing the previous record of 1.64 inches. Some neighborhoods, particularly in Milwaukee proper and the northern suburbs such as Fox Point, experienced even higher totals, with reports of up to 11.9 inches in certain areas.

The intense rainfall has caused significant flooding, resulting in blocked roads and submerged vehicles. The threat of additional rainfall and flooding remains for the region, with forecasts indicating the potential for continued severe weather in the coming days.

You go in northern suburbs up towards Fox point. Beautiful part of America, by the way, if you ever get up there, great lighthouses, incredible homes, beautiful, but man, they just got rocked up there anywhere from 19. Let's see. I'm sorry. 10.9 inches of of rainfall. Uh, look at that in some areas, suburbs in the northwest, about 11.9. That is more than enough to cause some problems. And obviously, as you see here, a lot of reports that indicate that roads were blocked. We could see more of this happening, which means more rain, more flooding, all likely in places like Kansas City into Wichita. I can't get over the shot from earlier, right there on the interstate, showing you just this old things that are popping up those old islands. Those are the roofs of cars right down there gives you an idea of how intense that rainfall happened to be. And yes, we could see more of that even into tomorrow and Tuesday. The specter of flooding will still exist.
