Medical City Fort Worth has finalized a major $37 million expansion aimed at addressing the healthcare needs of the region's increasing population. The project includes four new state-of-the-art operating rooms and a new laboratory for cardiovascular services, featuring advanced technology such as video integration and enhanced lighting.

The hospital's CEO, John Hoover, highlighted that the expansion will help the facility keep pace with local and regional demand, especially as more people move to the area. Future plans include a $51 million parking garage and the potential addition of acute care beds, ensuring continued growth and high-quality care for the community.

Yeah it's gonna help me the needs of Fort Worth's growing population and Paige Ellenberger is live with the hospital CEO to explain what's new and how this really is going to impact so many Paige. Hey guys yeah good morning that ribbon-cutting is set for today at noon and I want to jump right on into it because I could tell you about the new expansion but we have the CEO of Medical City Fort Worth John Hoover joining us today. First of all thank you so much for waking up with us and spending some time. Absolutely thank you it's a pleasure. Okay big expansion 37 million dollars talk to me about what it's gonna add to the hospital and how it's gonna help the community. Yeah absolutely now we're thrilled for the unveiling and ribbon-cutting for surgical and procedural expansion here today. Represents four additional ORs with state-of-the-art technology. This is inclusive of video integration, enhanced lighting and ultimately helps those providers in the middle of surgery. With the addition of that we also have a new lab for our patients in need of cardiovascular services. Yeah we were talking a little bit earlier and you had said people drive from far distances to come and get procedures done here. This is only going to help those people. A lot of people also moving to the Metroplex and seek out services here at Medical City. Why is it so important to continue growing and evolving here at Medical City? Yeah absolutely I mean the population growth that we've seen in North Texas and just the demand that that's put on the health care system is certainly not in a light and so we're thrilled again to make sure that we're keeping pace with that growth of the population not only local to our community here but as a tertiary facility that takes care of high-acuity surgical and procedural patients. The additional capacity positions the hospital to make sure that we're driving that delivery of care in a timely manner. Yeah for people that may not be as familiar with operating rooms or cath labs why is it so important to add four ORs and two new cath labs to this specific hospital? Yeah well we're our capacity over the last couple years has been one where we've been able to serve our local community but we see with the growth that is continuing we want to make sure that we're keeping pace with that and so with that expansion it's gonna allow us the opportunity to do that. Okay and before I know we have to wrap really really quickly but there are some exciting things in Medical City Fort Worth's future. Very quickly what can folks expect here in the next few years? Yeah in addition to what we have going on here today we are approved and funded for a 51 million dollar parking garage and we're also evaluating the ability to add acute care beds to one of our towers that is structurally stressed to go up to seven floors so making sure we're keeping pace with the community demand and delivering high quality care.
