A carjacking incident occurred outside a business in Athol Park, Adelaide, where the owner, Muni Rewi, attempted to prevent his new ute from being stolen. Despite sustaining minor injuries to his hand and back, Rewi was unable to stop the suspect, who used the vehicle to travel to Port Adelaide.

Police tracked the stolen ute using its GPS and located the suspect at a shopping centre car park. During the arrest, multiple officers were allegedly attacked. A search of the vehicle uncovered tools believed to be stolen from a nearby construction site. The vehicle was returned to its owner, who advised other drivers to secure their vehicles.
