Maersk said its weekly service connecting the Middle East and India with the US east coast will be first to go, leading the group's staggered return to the Suez route from January 26. Maersk said they made the decision due to continued stable conditions in and around the Red Sea. The Suez Canal is the fastest route linking Europe and Asia. Analysts have shown it made up about a tenth of global seaborne trade until the attacks. The German shipping company Hapag Lloyd said it won't adjust its operations in the Red Sea for now. But the firm added it was closely monitoring the situation and said Maersk's move changed the situation.
