For us we wouldn't go and play League or we wouldn't go and play 15s if it jeopardised our seventh season so we probably wouldn't go and play R360 when it lands right in the middle of our season. This terrible rugby comp could reportedly offer female players up to $550,000 a year. Some of those League boys are getting offered ridiculous amounts of money or even some girls looking at it but I also think if you're playing the game for money then you're probably not playing for the right reasons. I think the sad thing is that with all that money we could be doing so much better to help grow the game. The average Sevens women's player earns $110,000 a year. The top Union internationals up to $72,000. It's not like we're not getting paid, we're getting paid full time to play and travel the world and do something we love. The best friends head to Dubai on Friday for the Sevens Series opener next week. Before they even consider a code hop, they have one last thing to bring home. Because we still don't have a gold medal at the Olympics so we'd love to achieve those first and then potentially NRL down the track or even 15s. Before a 2029 Home Union World Cup on the horizon.
