Los Angeles District Attorney Nathan Hockman expressed confidence in a conviction, noting Reiner could face the death penalty if found guilty. A public defender has been appointed, and the arraignment is now scheduled for February 23rd.

Jackson, who famously won an acquittal in the murder trial of Karen Reed and represented Harvey Weinstein, offered no explanation, but said this about Reiner's case. Take this to the bank. Pursuant to the law in California, Nick Reiner is not guilty of murder. L.A.'s DA, Nathan Hockman, later spoke and said that he has no doubt that a jury would find Nick Reiner guilty. If convicted, he could face the death penalty. He has been appointed a public defender and his arraignment has now been rescheduled to February 23rd.
