Arizona

The moon will reach its closest point to Earth for the final time in 2025, resulting in a supermoon known as the Cold Moon. This event is the third and last supermoon of the year, with the full moon appearing larger and brighter than usual.

The supermoon will be visible starting Wednesday, with peak viewing just after sunset on Thursday, particularly in the southwest and northeast regions of the United States. If weather conditions obscure the view, another supermoon is expected in January.

The moon's orbit will bring it closer to our planet one last time this year, giving us a supermoon that will live up to its name, the Cold Moon. And boy will it be cold. Much of the country will be stuck below 40 degrees late week. This will be the last of three consecutive supermoons this year, full moons that appear brighter and bigger. You can see it starting Wednesday. But who will have the best view when it peaks just after sunset Thursday? Those of you in the southwest and the northeast will have the best chance. If clouds spoil your plans, January will bring another chance at a supermoon sighting.
