Snow squall warnings are possible as a cold front moves through, and several inches of snow are forecast for West Virginia, benefiting ski resorts. Synoptic-scale snow may reach as far as New York City, potentially affecting New Year's Eve celebrations.

Yes, it could snow in New York City tonight in time for the ball drop, but that's what's going to give us the snow squall warnings. It's going to be the front right there.
