Kyiv hit by largest drone attack since the war began

Early hours of Saturday morning, before the sun rose, Kyiv's sky was alight with explosives in what Ukraine says is Russia's largest drone attack since the war began. Upon daylight, Ukrainians in the nation's capital were surveying the damage and collecting their thoughts. The blow was very powerful. It even blew out the entrance door, the metallic one. We would have been buried under the doors too because the strength of the blow was immense. It takes a second and the next moment everything flies towards you. I have a headache. My wife and I have been taking pills all night. We stayed up all night. The child had nausea and a panic attack. We soothed her all night. According to Ukrainian authorities, the assault began around 4am and lasted six hours. Multiple buildings caught fire, around 17,000 people were left without power, four power lines were damaged and at least five people were wounded, including an 11-year-old girl. However, the attacks were not left unmatched. Ukrainians Air Force say they shot down the majority of the 75 Shaked kamikaze drones that targeted different districts in Kyiv, minimising the damage on local residents. An air alarm began. At first, everything was quiet and then a margadine began. You could hear the Shahads being shot down and a fragment landed here. It's been 20 months since Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine and while fatigue may be setting in, the war is still far from over. According to local sources, this was the fourth drone attack on Kyiv this month.
