While my kids will be a princess and a queen this year, Halloween costume trends seem to be going in one particular direction across the country, really. We're talking about K-pop demon hunters. According to Google Freitgeist, the site's roundup of Halloween trends, the top five costume searches this year are all characters from the Netflix movie musical. Rumi is number one, followed by Zoe, Mira, Jinu, and Baby Saja. Robert Ferrara joins us now. He is a Google Trends expert. Robert, so good to have you on something fun like this. So let's talk about all of the hype. What are the searches? I mean, K-pop demon hunters is really just top of mind for everyone this year. It's always really cool to see how these movies like that, Minecraft as well, really just translates to the costumes. I mean, everyone is just like obsessed right now. And you never know when something like that is going to like really touch the zeitgeist and just blow up in these schools for these kids. So dog, pet costumes, these are also a big moneymaker in the U.S. What's happening there? Oh, always my favorite kind of costumes. And all over New York, you're already seeing them out and about. Lots of great stuff. I mean, the first one being a little boo-boo. Everyone wants their pup to be a little boo-boo. And that's what I really need to see this year. Wait, are those those little key chains that I've been seeing everywhere? Yes, they have taken the world by storm. The little plushies that are now impossible to find and ridiculously expensive. So that's really funny. And of course, more K-pop demon hunters. So Derpy the tiger is the number two top pet costume that people are searching for. Jockeys as well from the Minecraft movie. So there's one in particular, the chicken jockey. And that was a breakout for pets. So we're seeing that and it's just, it's very, very cute. I mean, all things from different movies and it's just adorable. IHOP worker was another one that was in the top five. And I think we're assuming that it's coming from a viral story of a three-legged dog who won a Halloween costume contest. And it was really adorable and heartfelt. And I think that folks are all in suit. Cute, very nice. All right, so how early did people start Googling their costumes this year? You'd be surprised. People love spooky season. I mean, it's really just, I would say end of summer is when we start seeing it pick up. People get ready. As early as August. And you start to see things really surge in September as well.
