A Texas judge has denied a motion for mistrial in the case of Adrian Gonzalez, the former Uvalde school police officer charged with 29 counts of child endangerment and abandonment for allegedly failing to act during the 2022 school shooting. The defense requested a mistrial after a teacher's testimony revealed new details about Gonzalez's proximity to the shooter, which had not been previously submitted as evidence.

The judge ruled that the information from the witness would not bias the jury, allowing the trial to proceed. Gonzalez has pleaded not guilty, and the trial is set to continue as scheduled.
