Recent weather patterns across the United States are resulting in notable temperature fluctuations, with some regions experiencing above-average highs. A ridge in the west and the lifting of the Hudson Bay low are contributing to these changes, allowing westerly flow and warmer air to move into central and eastern areas.

Forecasts indicate that rain, and possibly freezing rain in areas with snowpack, may affect the Great Lakes region in the coming week. Cities such as Atlanta, Chicago, and Boston are expected to see temperatures well above seasonal averages by midweek.

The western pattern is still very active. And the Hudson Bay low finally lifts out. Look at that. It just lifts right up and flattens out. So that allows us to get this westerly flow. And now what comes out of the southwest may actually bring rain by next week in toward the Great Lakes. We may even have some freezing rain to deal with where we have the snowpack. But you can see the trends. I mean, Saturday to Monday to Wednesday. Now, just because we're above average doesn't mean we're 80 degrees, OK? 40 in some of these areas is going to be above average. So definitely get ready for that. Temperatures, again, 70 by next Wednesday in Atlanta, 42 in Chicago and Boston.
