However, a Yale Budget Lab report indicates these tariffs could cost the average US household an additional $2,400 annually as businesses pass increased costs onto consumers.

The owner of Curiosity, an Indian restaurant in San Diego's South Park neighborhood, expressed concern about the financial strain the tariffs will place on small businesses, particularly due to high tariffs on goods from India. The owner noted that profit margins would be immediately affected. Additional tariffs, including a proposed 100% tariff on semiconductors and chips, could further increase prices for electronics, appliances, and cars.
