The governor of the Kursk region confirmed that Ukrainian mobile groups have advanced 12 km deep and 40 km wide into the area.

The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) noted that Ukraine's actions in Kursk have led to a temporary shift in battlefield dynamics, compelling Russian military command to react and redeploy forces to the sector. This movement has enabled Ukrainian forces to launch further attacks. While Russia has faced previous incursions, the current foray into the Kursk region is considered the largest on its soil since World War II.

Despite the Ukrainian advance, Russian local authorities report that Russian forces continue to exert pressure on Ukrainian troops in eastern Ukraine. They also highlight that the Russian military command has not withdrawn troops from that area.
