Google and Replit have announced an expanded partnership to make AI-powered coding tools more accessible to users across various organizational roles. Replit, valued at $3 billion, enables individuals without traditional software engineering backgrounds to create applications by describing their needs to AI, and integrates with platforms such as BigQuery, Databricks, and Snowflake.

The partnership emphasizes Replit's commitment to Google Cloud as its primary provider, with both companies highlighting the trend of AI-first coding moving into enterprise environments. The deal does not include a financial investment, as Replit is not currently seeking additional capital.

I turn around, they're making another splashy move, the stock's up. Yep, and Repl.it, speaking of vibe coding, it is the $3 billion darling in the space. It lets non-software engineers like hobbyists or marketing employees or your elementary grade kid simply tell AI what it wants, and the AI builds the final app or product for you. Now, it differs from some of the other players in this space, like Cursor, in that its funnel is very broad, and that is what this expanded partnership is about. I talked exclusively to Google Cloud President Matt Renner and Repl.it CEO Amjad Massad. With Repl.it now, anyone in the organization, we see people from HR, sales, marketing, everyone spinning up their own internal tools, and we actually integrate with BigQuery, we integrate with Databricks, with Snowflake, so people are building on top of their existing data platforms, and so that's automations, agents, data applications, and so everyone in the organization is becoming a programmer. When I look at Repl.it, what sets it apart is the history we've had together, and frankly, the dedication to Google Cloud relative to as their primary cloud. So we have a very consistent strategy, which is we're gonna provide products, right? And to your earlier example of AWS, yes, they provide optionality, but they're not providing the first party products, right? So we're gonna provide both at all levels. So both of them, they see Vibe Coding or AI First Coding moving to the enterprise, the reason this deal makes sense right now. By the way, Kelly, I did ask Renner why this deal didn't come with an investment, like a stake in Repl.it, like many of the deals in AI do right now. Massad said they're not raising capital, they don't need it right now.
