One of the main vessels, known as the family boat, suffered engine failure attributed to multiple incendiary drone attacks, resulting in its docking for repairs. Aid and passengers from the affected boat will be transferred to the remaining ships in the fleet, which are set to continue their mission.

Additionally, ten Italian citizens have decided to leave the flotilla after the Italian government urged them not to participate, with President Sergio Mattarella and Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni recommending the use of an aid corridor via Cyprus instead. The flotilla's organizers remain determined to break the Israeli blockade of Gaza and have called for increased global support, citing ongoing Israeli actions in international waters.

The Global Samud Flotilla says it will continue its journey towards Gaza despite recent difficulties which has seen one of the boats on the fleet sidelined. The family boat, one of the main vessels carrying aid and people on the flotilla, suffered an engine failure forcing its docking and repair. A spokesperson for the group says the damage was done after multiple incendiary drone attacks, leading to what he called a catastrophic failure. People on board the boat, as well as the aid cargo, will be relocated and distributed across the remainder of the fleet, set to continue its sail on Saturday. Meanwhile, ten Italian citizens have decided to abandon the journey following pressure from the Italian government. President Sergio Mattarella asked the group to heed of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni's advice and not put anyone in harm's way. Meloni had requested the initiation of an aid corridor to deliver the flotilla's supplies to Palestinians via Cyprus. The group says they're determined to break the Israeli siege on the enclave and called for more global support amid Israel's repeated aggression in international waters.
