In Gaza, walls rarely stand untouched. Those that remain after two years of devastation now carry new meaning. Words, colors, messages. Across this crib, ruined walls have become galleries, from painted veins rising out of rubble to symbols of freedom and life. Graffiti in Gaza transforms destruction into moments of imagination and breath among the ruins. For Ahmad Harara, art is resistance. He paints on walls and collapsed buildings to turn destruction into expression. I've been drawing since I was 10 years old. I practice art in all its forms, including visual art and graffiti. This talent became a source of income for me. Later, we began to draw about what's happening to the Palestinian people, the siege, and the many kinds of suffering they have lived through. Ahmad is not painting alone. Beside him, a new generation is learning, watching, helping, imagining a future through color. My name is Karim. I help my uncle Ahmad so I can draw with him and learn from him. When I grow up, I want to be like him, an artist. Passers-by stop, gaze in admiration, and express their amazement at the free Palestinian mural. Their reactions reflect a mix of wonder, hope, and a deep connection to the message. The meaning of Palestine is the meaning of freedom, the meaning of hope, the meaning of life. Palestine lives despite the killing, despite the destruction, despite the rubble. It is drawn on destroyed walls, destroyed homes, and rubble. Free Palestine is chanted at solidarity protests around the world. Behind me, Ahmad is inscribing the words into the ruins of one of hundreds of thousands of destroyed houses in Gaza. It's not just graffiti. It's a message of resilience from people who refuse to be silenced. In Gaza, graffiti is more than art and a declaration that despite everything, its people are still here.
