Forecast models indicate that the likelihood of a named storm making landfall is increasing, particularly for areas from North Carolina to North Florida. Residents in these regions are advised to monitor updates, as the storm could bring heavy rain, strong winds, and potential coastal surge.

And we are watching, of course, with very close eyes here, Invest 94L. It is now, I think, becoming a tropical depression. And whether or not it gets designated in two hours or six hours, it's likely to be that way. I think today we're starting to see the wind now begin to move around in a certain way that qualifies it as a tropical depression. And that's an important first step to strengthening down the road. It's got to get there first. And I think it will be, if it hasn't there, achieved that already. And then it's moving northwestward on a path like this, bringing, we know, squally weather to the Bahamas and the Turks and Caicos this weekend. Tomorrow, look at the clock time. Saturday, we are going to see some gusty winds, potentially, some heavy thunderstorms. Really just nasty weather in the region. And some of that may scrape by on the Florida coast. What I'm showing you is just one model. And it's one model that's kind of in agreement with a lot of the others that we look at. But let's just say something like this verifies that brings a north-northeast wind across parts of Florida, which is a rough surf, rip currents, dangerous sea conditions, as well. Weather, not sure. It depends on exactly how close it gets. If it's shifted a bit to the west, then we can have some impactful weather in Florida late Saturday and into Sunday. And that can be gusty winds and some squally weather, as well, right along the coast. Thereafter, it's becoming more and more likely that we're going to see a landfall of a named storm. And that probability is going up. And that would mean, if you have interests or you live in North Carolina all the way down in North Florida, watch the tropical updates. Pay attention to the updates. Be prepared for a named storm to make landfall, bringing very heavy rain in spots, and, of course, gusty winds, potentially, and even some surge issues. But remember, this is going up, the probability of a landfall.
