I've asked my husband not to speak Hebrew to our son in the street. I'm really not an anxious person, but I always have this feeling that we're not safe. In the UK, there's an increased police presence around synagogues and volunteers are stepping up community patrols in Jewish neighbourhoods. In a number of low-level incidents, many people would not have reported these incidents, but in today's atmosphere, these touch people a lot deeper. At the same time, there's been an increase in reports of anti-Muslim incidents in the UK.
