The 42-year-old has now been sentenced to 30 years in prison after being found guilty of a betting murder in relation to a terrorist plot. The Islamic State group claimed responsibility. After exchanging gunfire with French soldiers, Jacquard managed to flee the scene, sparking the beginning of a 48-hour manhunt in France and neighbouring Germany. Jacquard was later killed in a shootout with police.
