They came in desperate protest, likely knowing they stood little chance of changing minds in a state that as they see it is itself changing before their eyes. This is the path that the Nazis took and you are on that path. This rule is based in hate. It's homophobic. It is bigoted and it is a disgrace. The rule set to be voted upon is aimed at Florida's classrooms. It would expand an existing and controversial Florida law that restricts lessons on sexual orientation and gender identity. The so-called don't say gay law is already in place from kindergarten to grade three. This would extend it through to grade 12. A move applauded by some. God bless you. But at this meeting ripped into by most. Please, please, please for the sake of people like me and all other kids like me, do vote this rule down. Greetings from the free state of Florida. The driving force on all of it, Republican Governor Ron DeSantis. Re-elected last year in a landslide, believed to be now weighing a run for the White House. So certain in his politics he's now even taking on Florida's giant Disney World for its opposition to the don't say gay law. Say his critics, if you wonder where he'd take the country, watch Florida. Our mantra is we do not ever surrender to the woke mob because we've made the state of Florida the place where woke goes to die. It's a message that so far is mostly working in most Republican polls for the White House. Even as an undeclared candidate, DeSantis is second only to Donald Trump.
