The town of Wheeling, West Virginia, has been struck by severe flooding for the second time in just under two weeks. Recent torrential rains caused creeks to overflow, flooding streets and homes. Earlier, the region experienced deadly storms that brought nearly four inches of rain in less than an hour, resulting in the deaths of nine people, including seven from the nearby town of Triadelphia. 

Authorities continue to monitor the situation as the community recovers from repeated weather-related disasters. The repeated flooding highlights the vulnerability of the area to intense rainfall and rapid water level rises.

Floods strike West Virginia 2 weeks after deadly storms

For the second time in as many weeks, a small West Virginia community was struck by severe flooding. The town of Wheeling was hit with torrential rains that caused creeks to crest over their banks on Thursday. Up to two inches of rain fell on the town, which quickly turned the streets into rivers and caused homes to flood. Two weeks ago, nine people died when nearly four inches of rain hit the same region in the span of just 40 minutes. Seven of those victims were from the town of Triadelphia, which has just 660 people.
