Flash flood and severe thunderstorm warnings erupted in Phoenix and Las Vegas on the afternoon of Sept. 26, creating a dangerous situation.

Flash flooding has struck the metropolitan areas of Phoenix, Arizona, and Las Vegas, Nevada, following waves of Pacific moisture and severe thunderstorms. The flooding has resulted in stranded vehicles, multiple water rescues, and reports of flooded roadways, particularly in the Phoenix metro area. 

Both cities have been under flash flood warnings, with Tucson also experiencing a flood watch. Severe thunderstorms have impacted downtown Las Vegas, leading to a ground stop at the airport. The hazardous weather is expected to persist, potentially compounding existing flooding issues in the affected regions.

So the water's, it's been high. We have a lot of flash flood concerns out there, especially in the Phoenix metro. Yeah, a lot of water rescues. You know that the flash flooding is bad when we don't just have the flash flood warnings. We have the flooded roadway reports coming in, but multiple water rescues, it's a dangerous situation. Tucson also has a flood watch as well. There are the flash flood warnings, even some severe thunderstorm warnings. It departs at Clark County up there into Vegas metro, and also in the eastern footprint of the Phoenix metro as well. Looks like downtown Vegas has a severe thunderstorm. Yes. Yeah, that's been going on for the last 20 minutes, just about, and tomorrow the footprint is very similar. So especially those of you who have flash flooding now, it's just going to add on to the problem tomorrow. A little easier to deal with up in the northwest here. You'll get some wet weather next week. That's your big three here, and as we take a look at the travel, those two cities, Vegas and Phoenix, are our problem spots. Yeah, when we see a severe thunderstorm warning for downtown Las Vegas itself, no surprise. When we look at the airport, and there's a ground stop. This has been going on for at least the last half hour. Phoenix, this has been going on since 4 p.m., and I mean, you can see why. Again, when we looked at radar, yeah, not surprising there's a ground stop.
