And based on these initial interim findings, it appears the allegations are largely untrue. This all started in august of this year, but dates back to 2021. At the start of the school here, a teacher at Centerville High School publicly alleged that a school social worker encouraged, facilitated, even paid for student abortions without parental knowledge or consent. The claims sparked a firestorm, even got Governor Glenn Youngkin involved, who directed Virginia State Police to launch a criminal investigation. Congress and the Department of Education have also sent inquiries to F. C. P. S. In a recent letter, Superintendent Dr Michelle Reed telling families that they have an obligation to protect staff from wrongful and unjustified accusations. We've seen all the time that people who are adamant about their claims turn out to be telling the truth and some people turn out there a lot of doubts about it. It's no doubt in my mind that this happened when she told me I was like, I couldn't believe it. She was bleeding a lot. She could have died if she were home by herself. Now, it appears investigators have not been able to locate the student who got the abortion. But now attorneys for Perez are fighting back. She is being represented by the group Americans United for Life. In a statement to Fox five, they said they'll have a detailed response to the Senate and the Department of Education in the next few days and they are confident Fairfax County will quote come to regret their decision to rush through this so called investigation. It is far from over guys. Dr Reed says the investigation is still ongoing and the district is complying and responding to all inquiries into the matter.

The Trump administration is awaiting word from the Supreme Court after asking it to allow the immediate deployment of National Guard troops to Illinois to protect Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers. A lower court blocked the move.
