An Israeli tank has opened fire on a vehicle in Gaza, killing 11 members of the same family. The vehicle reportedly crossed into an area controlled by the military. A Palestinian civil defence spokesman says the vehicle was hit after crossing the so-called 'yellow line'.

In the southern part of Deir el-Balakh, 11 members of the Abu Shaaban family were killed after an Israeli tank fired as they crossed an unmarked area known as the 'yellow line.' The 'yellow line' is an invisible boundary that marks Israeli-controlled territory in Gaza, but it is not physically marked or signposted, leading to confusion among local residents.

Since the ceasefire, at least 28 Palestinians have been killed while attempting to return to or check on their homes in areas near this boundary. Many residents are unaware of the exact location of the 'yellow line,' which covers a significant portion of the Gaza Strip, resulting in repeated fatal incidents.

So we're now in the southern part of Deir el-Balakh. We're supposed to be a couple of meters away from the so-called yellow line, the invisible yellow line, the imaginary yellow line, where there's no sign that there's a yellow line. There's no flag, for example. There's no cautious sign. So Palestinians do not know where the yellow line exactly is. So there's nothing called to cross a line. And this has been an incident for a couple of Palestinian families where they have been trying to go and to see their houses and to check up on their houses. And this has been the case for most of Palestinian families. Complete devastation, complete destruction. And for example, yesterday, Abu Shaaban family, 11 members have been killed as they crossed the yellow line. But to be realistic, there is no exact yellow line. We have been asking some people here surrounding us, do you know where the yellow line is? Some people said, what is the yellow line? So some Palestinians don't even know the fact that there is a yellow line. The yellow line is 53% of the Gaza Strip, where the Israeli forces are controlling and are still present. We know that they're a couple of meters away from here. Now, most of the Palestinians have not knowing where this yellow line is. And that's why there has been continuous incidents of Palestinians being killed. We're talking about at least 28 Palestinians since the ceasefire began. Those Palestinians have been killed as they went to check up on their houses and also to live back in their houses where they did not know that this line is separating between death and life, where this is another death trap by the Israeli forces.

The Trump administration is awaiting word from the Supreme Court after asking it to allow the immediate deployment of National Guard troops to Illinois to protect Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers. A lower court blocked the move.
