Heat index values are exceeding 100 degrees in many areas, with some locations experiencing 'feels like' temperatures up to 115 degrees due to a combination of high temperatures and deep moisture.

Dew points are reaching the 80s, contributing to oppressive humidity levels. Some regions, including Jackson, Mississippi, Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Rockford, Illinois, are approaching or may break records for high minimum temperatures. The heat is expected to expand eastward, prompting additional heat advisories in states such as Connecticut and New York.

So that's not air you can wear anymore, that's air that's going to give you a shower, whether you like it or not. All right, so get ready for that. That is on its way. So some records, let's talk about these. These are low in the morning, low temperatures, but they're going to be high. So you're talking about places, look at this one, Jackson, Mississippi, not quite there yet, but we'd have to hit 78 to get the old, old record there. And here's a couple from 1940 that look breakable around Grand Rapids, Michigan, and also in toward Rockford, Illinois. So there goes the ridge starting to build east as we head towards the weekend here. And guess what? Here come the temperatures as well. So expect more heat advisories to come out in places like, let's say Connecticut, maybe even New York state for the heat and the humidity.
