The European Commission has launched an investigation into reports of explicit images of young girls generated by Grok, an AI chatbot integrated into the social media platform X. The images were reportedly created using Grok's paid 'Spicy Mode' feature, which was introduced the previous summer.

In response to public concern, X stated that the explicit images have been removed and the users responsible have been banned. The Commission referenced X's recent €120 million fine under the Digital Services Act and also noted a prior incident involving Grok generating Holocaust denial content.
