It's called the "Super Bowl of Tech," and it's taking over the Las Vegas Convention Center starting Tuesday, Jan. 6.

The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) has officially opened in Las Vegas, running from Tuesday through Friday at the Las Vegas Convention Center and several major strip casinos. Organized by the Consumer Technology Association, the event brings together leading technology companies for panels, keynotes, and product unveilings across industries such as health care and transportation.

This year's CES is the first trade show to fully utilize the convention center's newly renovated legacy campus, following a $600 million upgrade that includes a redesigned Central Hall atrium and improved technology. The event is expected to provide a significant boost to tourism and the local hotel industry, reinforcing Las Vegas's status as a center for global business and innovation.

CES is officially back in Las Vegas and starting Tuesday through Friday the world's largest tech show is going to be taking place right here at the Las Vegas Convention Center. And even though this is the main hub, major strip casinos like the Aria, the Cosmo and Mandalay Bay are also going to be playing host with meetings and events happening across several properties. Organized by the Consumer Technology Association, CES brings together the biggest names in tech, featuring panel discussions, keynote presentations and the unveiling of new products that will shape industries from health care to transportation. MGM resorts leaders say hosting CES highlights the importance of Las Vegas as a global hub for innovation and in-person business. Las Vegas is so incredibly proud to have CES back, what is considered to be one of the most, the most powerful and largest tech event. For MGM resorts to be at the center of it with rooms, events, meetings and to have so many technology companies unveiling and innovating and really just shows what the power of face-to-face meetings does for businesses and people. And today there's another major milestone tied to CES. The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority along with CES leaders cut the ribbon on the completion of a 600 million dollar renovation of the convention center's legacy campus. CES 2026 will be the first trade show to fully use the newly renovated space featuring a redesigned Central Hall atrium, upgraded technology and a climate controlled concourse connecting halls. And conventions like CES aren't just about tech, it could also bring a huge boost of tourism and hotel business. Coming up in our next half hour I'll break down the latest convention and tourism numbers to show just how important events like this one are to our Valley.
