Police are seeking the man behind a brazen daylight shooting in Brighton Le Sands in Sydney. They allege he fired at three men, damaging vehicles and an apartment block.

Police are investigating a daylight shooting in Brighton-Le-Sands, Sydney, where a gunman fired at three men walking toward a parked car. The attack resulted in three vehicles and a nearby apartment block being struck by bullets. One of the intended targets, Dawood Zakaria, was later killed in a separate incident. Authorities have identified links to criminal gangs but have not established a clear motive for the shooting. Police are appealing for public assistance to identify a man, his male driver, and a woman seen with the group before the attack, as well as information about the torched getaway car.

Within point-blank range, a gloved gunman aims a pistol out the window at three men on a brightened La Salle street. That footage is quite confronting, but that's the reality of what we're faced with at Task Force Falcon. The trio was walking toward a parked car on February 18 when a grey Audi SUV pulled up and the passenger opened fire in broad daylight that sent the men running. Three cars peppered with bullets, rounds also struck an apartment block behind. One of the targets, Dawood Zakaria, a known associate of the Alameddine Crime Network, who died three months later in a separate drive-by. His accused murderer, Jacob El-Masri, was arrested at a Guildford home eight days ago, where his family was then ambushed on Saturday morning. Our job, and it's a formidable one, is to take all those pieces of information, many of which are conflicting, and ultimately turn them into a timeline and evidence. Police say they've received little help since February's beachside attack and now want to speak to this man and his male driver, who abandoned and torched the getaway car along a residential street in Nawi, 20 minutes from the first crime scene. We're wanting to speak to a female who was seen with the men just prior to the shooting. She's described as being of Middle Eastern appearance, thin build, with long dark hair, and at the time she was wearing a black coloured top. Police are now trying to find out exactly what was said in those crucial moments during that street-side meeting, and while criminal gang links have been drawn, the motive is still unclear.
