That is yet to be officially confirmed. Meantime, national security and defence leaders have added in the past 24 hours to the laundry list of those wanting a Commonwealth Royal Commission. Not to mention, of course, privately, Labor MPs lobbying for this change and this about face within the party. That's clearly had an effect and a shift in language from Anthony Albanese and his ministers. Really it's a matter of when, not if, that call will be made. The opposition leader arguing the Federal Royal Commission must look at not just anti-Semitism and its rise within Australia, but the rise of Islamist extremism. He might be about to call this Commonwealth Royal Commission and the Coalition welcomes that. The terms of the Royal Commission need to be agreed to by victims' families. They must be satisfied with them and they need to be closely and carefully consulted with. Tonight we're also seeing reports some members of the Labor Party are asking the Prime Minister to withdraw his invitation to Israel's President Isaac Herzog, with the group Labor Friends of Palestine writing directly to Anthony Albanese.
