IParamount has finally greenlit the long-gestating Call of Duty live-action movie. No plot, casting, or filmmaker details are available, but Paramount CEO David Ellison said they're looking at Top Gun: Maverick for how to do a military-themed action blockbuster.

Activision Blizzard and Paramount have confirmed that a live-action adaptation of the Call of Duty video game franchise is officially in development. Paramount CEO David Ellison stated the project will be approached with the same commitment to excellence as Top Gun: Maverick, aiming to meet high expectations from fans and the franchise.

No information has been released regarding the film's plot, cast, director, or release date. This marks a renewed attempt at a Call of Duty film, following a previously announced but ultimately shelved project. Paramount has prior experience with video game adaptations, having produced both the successful Sonic the Hedgehog films and the less well-received Halo series.
