Celebrations began early, with people lining up from the morning to secure spots at pubs across the city. The festivities are expected to continue as Queenslanders mark the end of the AFL season with enthusiasm.

As you can hear, it absolutely is. The crowd here in Brisbane could not be louder or prouder to be from Queensland as the Lions bring home yet another AFL Premiership. Now I'm here at the Pineapple Hotel, which amongst sport fanatics is known to be the place for AFL diehards. The festivities will no doubt continue into the night as pubs across the city are filled with just as many people as this. People were lining up from this venue from 10am today to secure a spot in front of the big screens and perhaps the second best place to be if you aren't from Melbourne. Now I have no doubt this cheering will continue until the end of tonight as Queenslanders celebrate the AFL season of 2025.
