Bitcoin nears record highs as favorable regulatory shifts occur

Tanaya McKeel, tell us about crypto, which is on the move once again. Yeah. Hey, Scott. Crypto off to a stronger start this week versus what we're seeing in the stock market. Bitcoin wavering around $120,000 today and came closer to its all-time high above $123,000. Ether trading around its highest level since December 2021, and that's after hitting $4,000 on Friday. That level, historically, very challenging for investors, both psychologically and technically. We got it briefly in December, and then very early last year, although those were just kind of blips above the $4K level. Look at stocks, though, that are tied to crypto. Coinbase, Galaxy, the ETH Treasury stock, Bitmine, all seeing nice gains today and have held up, even with the way the broader market has pulled back. Investors were expecting a cool-down this month. Traders are watching the inflation data, of course, but I think regardless of what we get there, I suspect crypto will show some resilience given the favorable regulatory shifts and institutional interests that we're seeing. MicroStrategy and Bitmine reporting big Bitcoin and ETH purchases today, respectively. ETH ETFs last week, we saw more inflows there than Bitcoin ETFs. And we also, this week, have Bullish set to IPO and Circle's first earnings. So still, Scott, a lot of action and potential catalysts in the industry to support any macro-related stumbles.
