This measure will provide a pathway to permanent residency for those who qualify. To be eligible, individuals must be married to a U.S. citizen, have lived in the country for at least ten years, and must have no criminal record. Additionally, undocumented children under the age of 21, whose parent is married to a U.S. citizen, are also eligible for this protection. 

This is Biden's second executive order on immigration recently, signaling a marked departure from his predecessor, Donald Trump, who has proposed extensive deportation plans. Biden's approach is in line with public opinion, with 70% of Americans reportedly supporting measures to keep immigrant families together. 

However, not everyone is in favor of the new executive action. Critics, particularly among Republicans, argue that this could encourage more illegal immigration and have labeled Biden as the most pro-amnesty, open borders president in U.S. history. This move follows another recent executive action by Biden that restricted asylum applications at the border—a measure that faced criticism from immigration advocates. 

The executive action comes amid heightened media focus on crimes allegedly committed by migrants, including recent high-profile cases in Maryland and New York. These incidents have fueled ongoing debates over immigration policy in the United States.

The reason is simple. It embraces the American principle that we should keep families together. To qualify, a person must be married to a U.S. citizen and have lived in the U.S. for at least 10 years with no criminal record. Undocumented children under 21 whose parent is married to a citizen are also eligible. The announcement is an affirmation of what America is truly about at its core. A land built by immigrants. Undocumented migrants married to an American already have a path to citizenship. Although current law requires they return to their home country before applying. Many Republicans say the executive action will just encourage more illegal immigration. This is the most pro-amnesty, open borders president in American history. And now he's granting mass amnesty. It's outrageous. Just two weeks ago, Biden took another executive action to limit asylum applications at the border when migrant crossings are surging. A move immigration advocates denounced. But they're applauding this one. As it's a stark contrast from Biden's presidential rival, Donald Trump, who's promised to deport mass number of illegal immigrants if reelected. We have no choice. This is not sustainable. This executive action comes as migrant crime is dominating headlines. With the recent arrests of an illegal migrant accused of killing a mother in Maryland.
