The industry leader, known for brands including Super Dry Beer, said it began processing some orders on Wednesday by visiting customers in person. Purchases for food and soft drink are continuing, but it has not yet taken further purchases for alcoholic beverages. Asahi said it continues to work with investigative authorities on the attack. The breach is the latest in a string of cyber and ransomware attacks targeting global companies. In Britain, luxury car maker Jaguar Land Rover was forced to shut down its factories last month, while Marks and Spencers and the co-op group have also fallen victim to sophisticated breaches. Asahi's shares have fallen about four percent to their lowest level since February, after the company said it was attacked.
