The United States Air Force has given approval for SpaceX to redevelop a historic launch pad at Cape Canaveral, Florida, specifically for its Starship spacecraft. This expansion will allow SpaceX to conduct up to 76 launches and 152 landings annually from the site, significantly increasing its operational capacity.

With the addition of two new launch pads, SpaceX will have a total of three Starship launch pads on Florida's Space Coast. While the company will maintain its existing launch pad in South Texas, most Starship flights, including those aimed at lunar and Mars missions, are planned to launch from Florida.

When it comes to SpaceX and its push to deep space, Florida is going to play a key role. That is one of SpaceX's launch pads behind me for its mega rocket, Starship. And the company could launch a Starship from that launch pad as soon as early next year. Here's what's new. The US Air Force just approved letting the company take over a separate launch complex in Cape Canaveral and build two more launch pads. That would give SpaceX a total of three launch pads here in Space Coast Florida for Starship, the biggest and most powerful rocket ever built. Starship is critical to SpaceX hopes of going to the moon and Mars. And while it will maintain its existing launch pad in South Texas, Florida is where most of Starship's flights will take off.
