An air ambulance operated by AMREF crashed in a residential area of Kiambu County near Nairobi, Kenya, while en route to Somaliland. The aircraft, a Cessna Citation XLS, was carrying medical personnel and crashed shortly after takeoff from Wilson Airport.

Authorities confirmed that six people died in the crash, including two doctors, two nurses, and two members of the public who were at the scene. The cause of the accident has not been established. In a separate incident elsewhere in Kenya, eight people died and many others were injured in a collision involving a train and a bus.

In a statement, AMREF flying doctors said the aircraft took off from Wilson Airport in Nairobi at 2.17 p.m. local time en route to Hargeisa, capital of Somaliland, before it crashed in Wihoko. Elsewhere in Kenya, eight people died in an accident involving a train and a bus in the west of the country. Many others were injured.
