Prominent California Rep. Adam Schiff is urging President Joe Biden to withdraw from the U.S. presidential race following Biden's recent COVID-19 diagnosis. Schiff expressed serious concerns about Biden's ability to defeat former President Donald Trump in the upcoming election. 

The White House reported that Biden is experiencing mild symptoms. Despite his health status, more Democrats have voiced opposition to Biden's re-election bid. Schiff's comments represent the highest-profile call yet for Biden to step aside.

Senator Cory Booker has also weighed in, expressing trust in Biden's ability to make the right decision regarding his candidacy. Following a debate performance nearly three weeks ago that many viewed as subpar, over 20 Democratic lawmakers have publicly advised Biden not to run for re-election. 

A recent poll indicates that 70 percent of Americans lack confidence in Biden's mental capacity, with two-thirds of Democratic voters favoring a new candidate. Detractors argue that Biden's inner circle is not providing him with the necessary reality checks. 

Despite the criticism, the Democratic National Committee plans to nominate Biden virtually ahead of the party's convention. Some critics suggest this move is intended to solidify Biden's candidacy.

But the president continues to fight back reportedly lashing out saying I don't want to hear that crap to lawmakers expressing concerns voters won't back him. And in his latest interview Biden says there's only one reason he'd stand down. If I had some medical condition that emerged if somebody if doctors came to me said you got this problem that problem. But many voters say they want him off the ticket now. I'm deeply concerned that the president's circle the people who quite frankly have kept him in a bubble for some time are also not giving him the facts.
