The Artemis II crew is currently orbiting Earth, testing the Orion capsule's systems, including its life support, before proceeding to the moon. If all systems are confirmed to be functioning, the crew will perform a Translunar Injection to begin their journey. This mission serves as a crucial test ahead of a planned lunar landing in 2028, with NASA still needing to secure a lunar lander for future missions.
