The U.S. Commerce Secretary indicated that Japan's investment will focus on sectors such as pharmaceuticals and semiconductors, operated by U.S. or non-Japanese companies.

Additionally, new frameworks have been established with Indonesia and the Philippines, both of which will be subject to a 19% tariff. The administration has stated that tariffs may be lowered if these countries further open their markets to U.S. goods. The stock market responded positively to the news, with investors hopeful for additional deals before an upcoming deadline.
