The revelation coincided with congressional actions, including subpoenas for Ghislaine Maxwell and Justice Department records on Epstein. Meanwhile, a federal judge in Florida declined to unseal grand jury testimony from Epstein's first federal case, while a decision on releasing testimony from a second case in New York is still pending.

La Casa Blanca rechazó los informes, calificándolos de noticias falsas. Y Bondi emitió un comunicado diciendo que nada en los archivos justificaba una mayor investigación o enjuiciamiento. Pero la revelación se produjo el mismo día que el Comité de Supervisión de la Cámara liderado por los republicanos citó a declarar desde la cárcel a Ghislaine Maxwell, co-conspiradora de Epstein, donde cumple una condena de 20 años por tráfico sexual, entre otros cargos. Y un panel de la Cámara votó a favor de citar al Departamento de Justicia para todos los registros de Epstein.
